Climbing Report India

India is endless big and so infos in general are always just little parts of the puzzle. You can go bouldering at the basecamp of Mt. Everest or in Hampi. If you ask Alex Chabot he will tell you that Badami will be the next big and important climbing destination in India and Hampi is nothing compared to it. Well the pics from him were impressive and Badami is India. Hampi isn't India. Friends of us said that they had troubles to find some well bolted routes in Badami but then on the other hand, Chabot and his friends recently bolted a lot there etc... The problem of Badami seems to be that there is no accomodation close to the walls. And no real climbing community meeting point. It is a noisy, busy polluted hot indian town. But these are things we heard, unfortunately we couldn't manage to get there because we went surfing instead :) (our fingerjoints really needed a break). Around Kathmandu is a lot of rock for bouldering and even drilled stuff as the local climbing gym owner let me know, whatever that means. Mumbai, a 14 million people city has a site to boulder and exact one place where you can by climbing stuff.
